I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Officers and committee of The Irish Setter Breeders Club for asking me to judge The Sybil Lennox Memorial Open Show in aid of Irish Setter rescue.

I was honoured to have a quality entry to judge & I thoroughly enjoyed my day. The venue was bright & airy & there was plenty of room for the exhibitors & space for a large ring to allow the dogs to be shown to their full potential. My thanks to my stewards Gordon & Wendy for keeping things running smoothly & to the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to judge your wonderful dogs.

1. Harris’ Zakhans’ Rough Diamond By Konakakela : 8 month old dog, refined head, dark eye, good front and rear angulation. Moved well when settled.

2. Rorkes Zakhans Diamond Jack : Litter brother to 1.Longer in body than his brother. Good straight front and good rear angulation. Moved well.

1. Halls Riverbrue Ophelia Love Glennara : 7 moth old girl ,mature for her age. Rich dark coat, very feminine head and expression and dark eye. Good rear angulation, moved well around the ring.

2. Brinkmans Danaway Dolly Mixture : Pretty 6 month old baby. Much finer in bone than the winner and coat lighter in colour. Lots to like about her but she needs time and practice on the move,

1. Maples Pollnac New MIracle :I really liked this young lady who is now 10 months old. Maturing nicely, clean outline, very feminine head & expression, and dark eye. Elegant arched neck into well laid-back shoulders, deep chest, and straight front. Good rear angulation. Moved well. BPB and delighted to award her Best Puppy in Show Well done.

1. Macaulays Harreds Lachlan At Stylersetts : Mature 15^th month old dog. Rich dark coat with good feathering. Pleasing outline with a good reach of neck. Masculine head and dark eye. Moved well holding his topline.

2. Davisons Bardonhill Million Reasons: Just into junior, finer in head than the winner, dark eye. Low set ears and good reach of neck. Firm topline and good rear angulation. Not so settled on the move.

1. Botts Bardonhill Carry On Cleo.: Beautiful 12 month old girl with a soft gentle expression and dark eye. Elegant lean neck and well laid-back shoulders. Firm topline which she kept on the move, good rear angulation. Moved well round the ring.

2. Dales Trefaine Aurora Of Aubanjon : Not so refined in the head as the winner. Balanced outline, dark coat and firm topline which she kept on the move.

1. Savages Sixoaks A Star Is Born At Firefall.: Lovely dog nearly 2 years old. Masculine Head with a soft gentle expression, dark almond shaped eye. Good reach of neck and well laid back shoulders. Firm topline. Good rear angulation and moved well around the ring.

2. Fosters Chantries Bel Re.: 19-month-old dog. Masculine head with a dark eye. Balanced dog with a good firm topline. Needs to settle on the move.

1. Foxs’ & Flinders Kerryfair Heart to Heart: Stood alone but a worthy winner. Classic looking girl just over 2 years of age. Feminine head, dark eye, long lean neck and low set ears. Flowing topline, good rear angulation, moved well.

Post Graduate Dog 3 (1)

1. Fosters Goldnavarm Endurance at Shanoah.: Strong impressive looking dog, dark coat, well-muscled .Lean head, dark eye and well laid back shoulders. Correct tail set and excellent rear angulation. Needed to settle on the move with his handler.

2. Cohens Lynwood Merry May King with Shushana.: Smaller dog but well balanced with good bone .Dark eye .Good topline which he kept on the move.

1. Bridgwater & Greens Bridgellas Don’t Push It.: Beautiful feminine girl with a lovely head and expression, just what I was looking for. Dark eye and beautiful low set ears. Flowing topline, correct tail set and good rear angulation. Moved strongly and elegantly around the ring. Very close decision between this girl and the open bitch winner for Best Bitch but on this occasion RBB.

2. Rorkes Zakhans Dream Believer.: Another pretty girl. Straight front ,good topline and strong hindquarters .Moved well.

1. Davisons Bardonhill You Don’t Fool Me.: Handsome 4-year-old dog. Well presented in good coat and condition. Balanced with a racy outline, straight front and good depth of chest. Soft expression, dark eye. Strong hindquarters and moved well RBD.

2. Harris & Hoeksemas Blazing Bronze Happy Clappy Sings Konakakela (ImpNLD) JW.: Another handsome dog with a beautiful head and gentle soft expression. Low set ears, well laid back shoulders ,straight front and a deep chest. Good rear angulation and moved well round the ring.

2. Sharman & Jennings Sharmans Kerrimere Red Ribbon JW.: 5-year-old girl with a feminine head and a gentle soft expression. Straight front, good bone and a gently sloping topline and correct tail set. Moved well.

1. Russells’ Sh Ch Lynwood Hocus Pocus At Settesoli JW.:Stood Alone but a very worthy winner. Striking looking dog in good coat. Masculine head, low set ears and moderate length of neck. Deep chest, gently sloping topline and correct tail set. Strong rear quarters moved well.

1. Elkins Twoacres Promise of Spring.: 6-year-old girl with the most beautiful feminine head and expression just what I was looking for. Dark eye and low set ears and lovely arched neck. Deep chest straight front and gently sloping topline with a correct tailset. In good coat and condition and moved well for her handler. Delighted to be able to award her Best Bitch and RBIS.Well done.

Veteran Dog 4

1. Edwards Gwendariff PS I Love You At Bonhomie JW .: A dog I have admired from the ringside. Now 8 years of age but looking fabulous and immaculately presented in gleaming coat. Masculine head with a soft expression, dark eye. Long lean neck into well laid-back shoulders. Straight front, deep chest with a flowing topline and strong well angulated rear quarters. Moved well. Very pleased to be able to award him Best Dog and Best In Show. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to judge such a lovely dog.

2. Sharman & Jennings Sharmans Kerrimere Indiscreet. Masculine head, dark eye. Tidy front and a gently sloping topline. Good rear angulation and moved with drive.

2. Carters Bardonhill Uptown Girl.:7 year old girl, slightly bigger than 1 but very feminine. Good front and rear angulation, moved well and was clearly enjoying her day out.

1. Corless Swiftlark Illustrious.: Placed 4^th in yearling .22month old girl. In good coat, firm topline which she held on the move.
